Dutch maestro Frenkie de Jong has been the heartbeat of the Barca midfield for quite some time now. From being an outcast in Xavi’s Barcelona system to becoming the cornerstone at the middle of the park, Frenkie has set the bars high with his commitment to the badge.
The summer of 2022 saw a cold war break out between the player and the club front office. Despite having everything in place to ship the player to Old Trafford, it was only De Jong’s undying grit that didn’t let the transfer go through.

Hell. Hell - perhaps is the only expression that would do anything near justice to Frenkie de Jong's situation back in summer 22. pic.twitter.com/lLmpf4OcpG
But Manchester United have still kept doors open for the Ajax product. The idea of a reconciliation with Eric ten Hag at Manchester is supposed to be more than just tempting, but Frenkie de Jong has always put all speculations to rest, loud and clear.
While speaking to NOS Sports, De Jong shared candid words on his future with Barcelona.
I’m at the club I’ve always dreamed of joining. I am very satisfied at Barcelona. I feel good here.
Frenkie spoke of his career ambitions that the player looks forward to achieving in Blaugrana colors.

The Dutch maestro emphasized on the importance and room for improvement that he himself wants to bring about as a player.
I still haven’t won the awards I want to win and I’m still not the player I want to be. There is still room for improvement and I still have time, but I would prefer to be there as soon as possible.
Frenkie de Jong is clearly eyeing European glory with Barca this season. The Dutch international has already won the La Liga title, Supercopa de Espana and Copa del Rey with the Spanish giants.
He will now be looking to pick the European crown as the Catalans have already made it past the group stages into the Knockouts of the UEFA Champions League 2023/24. Remains to be seen if De Jong’s aspirations will be realized soon enough. Pride, egotism, politics - nothing stood between him and the crest. Called BARCA his club, Barcelona his city.
Nobility is a virtue seldom bred. I take pride in that Frenkie de Jong plays for my club.

Regardless, one thing is for certain. The galactic sweetheart loves the crest just as much and is happy at the ‘club of his dreams’.
