Barcelona Win the Supercopa de Espana Beating Real Madrid

Outplayed and Outclassed by Xavi Hernandez's Barcelona, Real Madrid stood witness as the Catalan giants lifted their 98th official trophy after sealing their 98th official Clásico victory in the Supercopa de Espana finals.

An out and out victory as Barcelona dominated the Los Blancos from the beginning to the finish, Xavi Hernandez adds his first silverware to his managerial trophy cabinet - hopefully the first of many.

18 year old Pablo Gavira displayed a scintillating EL CLÁSICO performance that humbled the Blancos, scoring the first Goal and providing two assists in the same fixture.

The MoTM. Deservedly so.
Robert Lewandowski assisted the first goal and netted the second for Barcelona, while Pedri Gonzalez put the game to bed with a third goal.

Pablo Gavira has now become the youngest player in EL CLÁSICO history to score and assist in a single fixture, and also the youngest player to have scored a goal in the history of Supercopa de Espana.

Xavi Hernandez's tactical ploy to start 4 midfielders together and gain numerical advantage while Pablo Gavira shifted as a pseudo-winger at the left flank set up a dominating momentum for the Catalans.

This allowed Pedri Gonzalez to move as an attacking midfielder while Ousmane Dembele drifted wide.

Alejandro Balde absolutely outclassed Carjaval at the left flank with his scorching bursts of pace and solidarity in defensive suits, while Ronald Araujo did a terrific job at containing Vinicius Jr.

Kounde and Christensen were fantastic at Centre Back and Barcelona could have easily come out with a Cleansheet if not for a last minute goal from Karim Benzema.

Frenkie De Jong displayed yet another el Clásico masterclass, something that quite went under the radar albiet a solid display with defense splitting passes. Sergio Busquets was truly impressive, winning back balls at the centre of the park and was the starting point of all 3 goals scored by the Catalans.

Overall, an EL CLÁSICO fixture that brought an end to the silverware drought of a season and a half with a scintillating victory - is, by all means, the perfect start to 2023, a year that promises the glorious dawn for the Blaugrana.

1-3, not a bad addition to the archives of our long-standing EL CLÁSICO glory after all! And to top it off with a Trophy only tastes sweeter!
