Robert Lewandowski has been voted as the La Liga player of the month of October as he was directly involved in 7 goals (5 goals and 2 assists) including a late winner last time out vs Valencia.

The Polish striker has been the biggest offensive threat of this Barcelona side and his numbers makes it a more convincing argument.

He has scored 18 goals and has delivered four assists for his teammates in the 17 games he has played in all competitions.

He is the current top scorer in La Liga with 13 goals and in second place, 5 goals away, is Real Betis forward, Borja Iglesias.

Lewandowski’s insane stats has thus lead him to the player of the month award which he will receive during the visit of Almería to the Spotify Camp Nou, today at 21:00 hours (CEST).

In October, Lewandowski played six games in LaLiga and only remained without at least 1 goal in two, against Celtic Vigo (1-0) and in the visit to Santiago Bernabéu for the El Classico vs Real Madrid, in which Barcelona lost 3-1.  Lewandowski’s goals were key for the triumph in Mallorca by the minimum (1-0), two goals in front of the camp nou fans vs  Villarreal (3-0), goal and an assist against Athletic club (4-0) and a late goal against Valencia to grab the win in the 93’ minute of the game (0-1).

That being said it is not a surprise that he has been voted the best player of the month of  October, although there were a lot of competition. Lewansowski surpassed to Fede Valverde (Real Madrid), who had already been chosen as best player in September and marked three golazos in October, Antoine Griezmann (Athletico Madrid), Sergio León (Valladolid), Brais Mendez (Real Sociedad), Isi Palazón (Ray Vallecano) or Joselu (Espanyol).
